Originally from Kansas in the United States, and similar to Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, Piney i.e. Angela Penhaligon left her home state and country and took up musical shop in London, England.

Releasing an electronica album in 2004 to acclaim and a packed tour schedule, Piney Gir, calling on her roots, later decided to release a country version of her songs.

Her country songs got critical acclaim and transposed what had been electronic to catchy, twangy love songs. Playing large festivals like Glastonbury in the UK, Piney continued to grow as a heartfelt singer/songwriter.

Her newest release, The Yearling, is more folky, poppy and storytelling than ever before. Pleasing and pleasant and variety-filled, Penhaligon's three different musical styles are worth a try!
